I'm bringing the topic up again, because it's just not right...

That the freakin Village People have a star and Prince doesn't!

Can't we get the man a star?

Anxiety

maybe he doesn't want a star.

anyway, aren't the fans supposed to organize the effort to give a celebrity a star on the walk of fame?

i think there are forms to be filled out and money to be raised.

after that is the most difficult part: getting the blessings of the celebrity in question.

which brings me back to the original comment:

maybe he doesn't want a star. confused

According to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame Website..

You can nominate him to get a star, but then if he is choosen there is a $25,000 fee for maintenance of the sidewalk "star",which must be paid before the "star" is dedicated. But the money is secondary - the recipient must meet a certain level of fame & accomplishment before a "star" will be awarded; each year, the Walk of Fame committee receives 200 to 300 applications, but they only give out 20 "stars" per year. Simply paying the fee alone will not buy a spot on the Walk. (The $25,000 is petty cash to the big studios that usually put up the money, but can it prove a challenge for small fan groups trying to get a "star" for their favorite celebrity.)

If you want to nominate Prince for a star, send a S.A.S.E. to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, 7018 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA. 90028). smile

lol I was thinking the same thing. This thread made me think of Prince's song "Baby I'm A Star".

Prince may not have a star on Hollywood, but to us, he is a star. That is good enough for me. biggrin

I really don´t know why he hasn´t his star. But I think much of celebrety who have it, some of them aren´t truly transcendent for the rest of people, so is it so important to have a celebrety stars?

Google Star4 Prince2 read the petition and sign it if you agree. I don't think he really wants one anymore or I'm not sure he ever did, but Mr.Hayes, Sheila E, and Renato all wished me well through Myspace. The signatures stand at 365. confused

Yes they r. The only way I will participate, if they put the star near Halle Berry's star. She's by the Kodak Theater in Hollywood. If I'm not mistaken (correct me if I'm wrong) she's the first one they put in that area
