Play In The Sunshine LIVE! I can't believe Prince never played it beyond the 1987 marker.
It's such a fun song, full of vitality. I love it's bounce.

You're right Hamster.
Great song for gigs. Same with: "I could never take the place of your man". "LOVE YOURSELF AS ALL PEOPLE"

it's a shame that rare gems like this song and others don't get repeated offerings in his live sets ..yet the constant LRC, LGC, RB, and PR get played on all tours since man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

I am sure Prince has to make a commercial consideration of what is expected of him, when he wants to sell out 21 O2 shows. A few years back he did some of those classic acoustic on guitar, which was great as well...

Actually Raspberry Beret hasn't been played in its full version (piano medleys don't really count) since 2002 LRC had a break of 7 years between 2001 and 2008, where it was brung back at coachella! full version lasting 7 minuites! unless you wanna count a 1 minuite verse and chorus on the piano...

Except the 40 odd times he played it in 2004, of course. But those don't count!

I disliked the sample sets of the O2 concerts. It was merely hinting at a song; it irked me he would only play the beat of all those great songs he did a snippet from, then turn around and perform Play That Funky Music and Crazy, covers that do not even reach the intensity of some of the stuff he used to cover earlier in his carreer, like Just My Imagination, when he did not just cover them, but at least gave them a Princely treatment. I just have to point at the version of Just My Imagination as played at Het Paard Van Troje (Small Club). I also came to dislike jams fervently; where he takes a motive and just jams on it for twenty minutes and then does ONE line out of a song and to him, that's a song (see Delirious on the Live Sessions cd) To me it does not work that way. But just a verse and a chorus is STILL that song, even though he does not perform it as we know from the album. I mean, that was one of the charms of the trip we like to call the Lovesexy Tour; the first parts was almost only medleys, but at least performed in a superior way. Btw; the versions of Little Red Corvette as played during the acoustic guitar sets in 2004 last around two minutes (check New Position's length on Parade) and often had more than just one verse and one chorus; hear him ripping the song he played on the March 29th and you know what I mean. That is a song to me.
