It's the nature/style of that particular photographer. I forget his/her name but all their celebrity subjects end up looking a bit rough like this. Knowing this, it's almost a bit surprising Prince agreed to the shoot.

y'all just don't like him unless his eyes are all made up and his lashes on. The lighting is awful and the base on his face is caked. A little powder would have help as well so shame on the make-up person.I think the photographer was going for the reflection in the eyes and wanted an odd look for this shot. So his face is bland and the shot is way close up!!!
