I am done with Prince. I will never listen to another Prince song again. He will never receive another penny from me again, I will never read any news about his music again. I will be throwing out my Prince music. It isn't even worth selling.

This is absolutly ridiculous what he is doing with the Box set. Everyone's hard earned money was spent on him and we have to spend 25 dollars a CD??? Plus, and I repeat Plus! he sends us a CD twice. Pluse $125 a ticket for the concert. Plus the obscene ammount of money on the celebration(I"m glad I didn't go) I feel really privleged. No, really I Do.

I mean who wouldn't want to spend money on a club for exclusive music, and then get something anyone can buy at best buy for 40 dollars less?

I will invest my money on Artists that actually interact with Fans and do cool things(Like the Roots and their 2 dollar Bill. You really think Prince would perform for 2 Dollars? That shows a love of music and fans.) In fact, I will not even get ANY music prince performs on. When Common's album comes out. *69 will be taken off my copy. I don't need to hear someone who doesn't give a shit about anything but himself, and makes decisions on ways to best rip people off.

In Fact, I think we should all sue prince because he did not promise the deliverables he promised in the begining, and during the tour:

Xenophobia, ONA, Madrid 2 Chicago, The Very best of That is a breach of contract. But wait, it just isn't worth it. I spit on him, and everything he stands for. Which in the end is nothing.


Farewell Prince, I hope when you go out on tour again, and you can't sell out a 500 seat club, you realize what you did to the people that loved your music most.

Wow - I'm really glad I didn't join the club now. I was pretty unhappy that I couldn't when I was at the gig as it would have been amazing to stand at the front but hearing some of the stuff on here is changing my mind.

So some of you guys got two copies of One Nite Alone Live? Why?

I actually haven't listened to a prince song in 3 months, and I have already gotten rid of my collection. I"m done. I wouldn't post if I wasn't serious. I have better things to do, and there is so much music to listen too. It isn't worth my time. This is my last comment on Prince.org. I'm asking for my acount to be removed. I will no longer affiliate with anything that celebrates prince, his music, or anything he stands for.

My favorite is the "Freedom Pt2" commentary which reads like absurd religious brainwash babble, trying to convince you that you really are doing something special by dumping $100 to Prince.

What cracks me up is how many times P proclaims about freeing the music, when THE TRUTH is its costing us much more nowdays, not to mention taking much longer.

Why should we settle for shitty service and jacked up prices? Is this really the sound of freedom? It sounds more like GREED to me.

You will probabbly get marauded by a bastion of fams who will bring up the same remarks about priviledged access to front row seats and the celebration. But remember that neither of these were free, neither of these were included in the price of the membership, we payed extra if we wanted these. Alot extra.

There were people who got better seats at the shows without joining the club. There were people who got into the Celebration without joining the club. There are people who will be able to purchase ONA Live without joining the club.

I dig my old Prince albums and enjoy chatting about them from time to time. But considering how inactive the "club" is its unfortuneate that instead of having new music every few months to listen to, I come here to complain about the lack of it. Instead of seeking some resolution from NPGMCs staff, I discover they can give a rats ass and instead treat you like an ungrateful gimp instead of a paying customer who supports their asses.

I agree with you 100%, DavidEye. Maybe the whole Club thing pisses you off, but why throw away all the music? Whatever he does doesn't change the music he made/makes.

I have a friend who is the same from time to time. Kind of over-reacts when something's not perfect for him.

Loty of people seem to be really harsh with prince and the club... When you love too much some artist you ask too much of him... It is a question of distance... The club is an improving concept (that needs to be improved but it will) as for the future, wait and see... My concert experience suffices to say it was worth it!!!

About the celbration: don't tell me you thought prince was going to pay you the plane trip!!!

Back in 94, 95, I was all behind Prince getting away from major labels and releasing his stuff through newfunk. I bought all the merchandise, preordered the Crystal Ball, and all that jazz. Its been about 7 years now that theyve been running this stuff, at what point do fans draw the line with the business mishaps?

Wahday, I hate that you feel that way. But if you once loved his music and going to the concerts how can you just give up on him so easy. I've been a fam since '84 and don't plan on giving up on Prince at all. There have been things he has done that I haven't liked but I got over it because I love the man and his music. Before we were able to get his music on the internet we had to pay damn near $40 for The Hits/B-Sides Box Set. So if you're really a fam you wouldn't leave him nor the org unless you truly wasn't a fam in the first place.

Better late than never. I had the same feelings a year ago, sold the colection, everything that had his face on it. Life is so much simpler now. Buy the music when its available. If it truely about the music and not the image, you will just be happy when a cd comes out and forget about all the other garbage.

I have talked to him a couple of times so please don't say he doesn't interact with us...simply not true.

The NPG Music Club does totally suck ass and I will not join again... two years is enough for me, but the older stuff is still good.

I am, however, extremely disappointed with the way Prince operates his business...

The way to tell Prince how you feel about his business practices is to not join the club again... this is going to be my technique. I am also going to perform the useless extra step of writing to the NPG people about my disappointment... this will do absolutely no good, but it will at least be another complaint that they see.

I will definitely not be buying the 3cd set for $60.00. What a joke. I would rather support boots out there. At least I know what I am getting before I buy it. I'll wait and find it in the used or sale bin.

It just a shame that Prince has to charge his FANS (not fam, if I were he would call me!), an arm and a leg and still not provide what was originally promised in the beginning.

Join the club and get screwed. I can get almost any of that stuff off the internet or a friend anyways.

Sorry but I would give my $$ to someone else and know what to expect than just sit and wait for Prince to provide.
