That reminds me of a funny story.

Up in Old Orchard Beach Maine.. (summer hang-out for french canadians) I sang "Sexy MF" on the rooftop of a club called the Krazy Klam. Lo and behold.. halfway through the karaoke song.. (with the whole crowd of white as ghost bikini boppers singing along) the Salvation Army band was 100 feet away rehearsing something about "heee izzthe saviorrr" stopped trying to compete with us and sent the local police to pull the plug on us..

"Sexy MF shaking that ass.. sha..."

You never heard an eruption of boos so quickly...

Therapy

A friend and me went to a shitty little sea side 'Hi-de-Hi' mini campus, where a karaoke night was being hosted. The host was a real tit, taking the piss out of all the people brave enough to get up and have a go.

I decided that I wanted to have a go myself. So i put a request in. As I filled the form in, I had to put what superstar status I thought I belonged in. The one I chose was 'Absolute Pop Star' or something like that!!

When I was called up, I was announced by the host as 'Colette, absolute pop star signing Prince and Kiss!!' I was bricking it. I got up there and I had so much fun!! I was dancing around, really giving it some, singing my face off and loving every second of it. I made sure while I was singing that I kept an eye on ol' piss taking hostie man, who was, doing something behind my back. Noticing that coincided with the lines 'You don't have to watch Dynasty to have an attitude' which were delivered to him from a few feet away. That left me feeling much more confident and I think I may have embarressed him a bit - ha ha ha!! The old crowd were getting into it and clapped and cheered at the end. I had a blast!!

Later on in the evening, the host asked my friend to get me to do a Tina Turner duet with him. Bloody hell man! I don't think so!!

Looking back on that though, I suppose his request for a duet was a bit of a compliment. Yet it took so much courage to get up in the first place that I couldn't face all the build up again.
