Whatever the case, I hope to be there. hey he's an artist that needs 2 branch 4wards not backwards. there r places one can go 2 relive that old glory if they choose 2. doesn't mean u have 2 spend ur hard earned money seeing someone sing songs mostly created over 20-25 because someone has never seen him live b4. i know some would b happy about it because it's their 1st time and they'll take anything. but come on now, i look at things from a artist persepective only. he has multitudes of songs that have never been played live b4 or rarely played live. it's time 4 those songs and more importantly 4 prince 2 stick 2 his words by retiring those songs and moving forward. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

NY Prince Fans October 5, 2008 We are hearing from our connections that Prince will be performing in NY this Friday night. More info as it becomes available.-Dr.FB Funkenberry wrote an update to his NY thing: Update: Things may have changed in a matter of a few hours yesterday and the Friday date may be wrong now with that change, but both events previously discussed, i.e. a book release party and an afterparty for fans will be happening at this time. Make no mistake, when our NY contact advised of us of a performance on Friday, it was true at the time and posted in good faith. The number one most important thing right now is NY should be seeing Prince soon.-Dr.FB [Edited 10/6/08 9:40am] what the heck does this UPDATE mean? I'm just confused ?? The Friday date MAY be wrong now ... but both events previously discussed ... WILL BE happening at this time ... our NY contact advised of a performance on Friday, it WAS TRUE at the time ... most important thing ... NY SHOULD be seeing Prince soon so first it may be wrong but then it's happening at this time, then it was Friday per a NY contact, but now it should be soon - WHAT ??? Who writes this stuff? a writer??

Have fun for those who get to go. The weather in NYC right now is around the mid to upper 60s. Suppose to be at least 70 over the weekend, so if P lets out-of-town fans into his show on Friday, wherever that is, bring a jacket peeps, it gets a little cool in the evening around 55 - 60 degrees and bring an umbrella, chance of light rain in the forecast for the weekend.
Besides if Prince is coming to town, he's going to rock NYC as usual, so be prepared for some shaky ground as well. Whomever gets to go, I look forward to reading your exciting reports. Have fun! [Edited 10/8/08 6:29am]

Hey, I just thought of you when I saw the update. I think the mods should give you an honorary ticket if they do a contest for fans. Anyway, hope you get a chance to see him perform.

I just read this on the quake
OK folks - here's what I can tell you at this time There will be a very exclusive charity show in aid of Urban Farming taking place in NYC on Friday night. This will be a four figure sum ticket cost, however a small number of very lucky fans will be give the chance to attend exclusively through Housequake and prince.org - more soon on how you can win those. On Friday night / Saturday morning they'll be an aftershow which will still be reasonably expensive and hard to get hold of - we're taking 250 people TOTAL. However HQ & prince.org will be running a separate, more cryptic competition to win the chance to BUY tickets. Stay tuned - a lot more is coming today for those with patience. Please do not send me messages asking for more info privately - all good things come to those who wait !t saw the update on the quake [Edited 10/8/08 7:27am]

I don't want to hear him bitch and moan about how Prince is stuck in the past with playing nothing but old shit, if he plays the old stuff the majority of the show, cause you know that's what L4OA's gonna do. No, stay home Freddy. You my boy but nah playa. [Edited 10/8/08 7:57am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Freddy...my man. Isn't the point of a concert to revue the songs released in an artists career? Of course he'll play songs from Planet Earth (much 2 u'r dismay), and 3121, which R his 2 most recent releases. I mean....U hated the Musicology tour because of the same reason, but he played Musicology songs in the mixas well as plenty of songs a casual Prince fan wouldn't know. He also did the same for the ONA tour....so I don't get where U come off saying he only plays greatest hits. ALL MUSICIANS PLAY GREATEST HITS IN CONCERT (unless it's conceptual, or if it's Lauren Hill....not falling in that trap. ) Besides.....U don't like any of his new shit anyway, so be happy. Case Closed. [Edited 10/8/08 8:13am] Peace&BeWild
