Well,

Beeing at variuos soundchecks, concerts, af aftershows, i couldn't help thinking of the following.

Do you all think Prince is himsef at the soundchecks, or is it just another act.

We all know that he's capable of putting on another personality if he wants to.

I think it's a part of him, we all behave different around otehr people, he just exposed some parts of him we have never seen, there is yet quite a lot of undiscovered Prince somewhere

Maybe I'm just weird but I behave slightly differently with just about everyone I interact with- not on purpose just do.

Of course there are old friends and the like who I can be more my 'true' self around.

Plus you have to take into account peoples moods on any given day. I'm a moody bugger myself and I think alot of artists are prone to different moods too.

Who would want to stand up in a room infront of a few hundred strangers and be completely, vunreably themselves?

Only went to one sound check and he didn't chat an awful lot, a bit. We english are far too polite and reserved.

At one point he asked how we find out about new music "From the Television?" Prince asked, audience: silence

"The radio?" Prince asked, NPGMC members: "silence"

"Ok." Says Prince "So you don't watch television or listen to the radio...and you didn't run when they let you in here either" Audience "laughs"

Prince then played the drums and the place went wild!

He was definately being himself when he played those drums though!

Well, he certainly has different moods !!

How could he be anything but himself. Have you seen his acting !

I sort of get the question, but it's a strange one. Why would he bother with any of it (the soundcheck) if he had to "put on an act" to be in the same room with us? That would be a drag for him, I think. He's himself, maybe not as relaxed as he is @ his home, lol, but cool enough to be under the microscope for an extra hour when he doesn't have to be...

I went to Oberhausen and although I couldn't hear the whole conversation I still have the feeling that there he WAS himself. It was a cool experience. I really liked the personality I saw there, being capable of self-ridiculisation and relativation ( IS this an english word?). I've also seen both soundchecks in Rotterdam and I think there it was a mix between an act and being himself. Then again 10/15 he wasn't that friendly at all...
