Prince (sample) on new George Clinton CD

For those of you who are also P-Funk/GC fans, George has a new cover-song CD called "Gangsters Of Love", and track 12 ("Heaven") has a sample of "If I Was Your Girlfriend".

Pretty cool song. Maybe this means he'll allow more artists to sample his back catalogue - could open up a whole new generation of hiphop fans to his music (in much the same way as happened to George Clinton himself)

I don´t like it . And as far as recognition goes, Prince has saved George Clinton´s broke ass numerous times over the years, no need to butcher one of Prince´s best songs without even experimenting with it ( just using the beat and letting someone rap over it...how lame).

George is cool but he shouldn´t have done this. Like a lot of those modern day "songs"( like, for instance, Kanye or Puffy and their unimaginative , uncreative endeavours), this one relies too heavily on the original, and doesn´t really bring anything new to the table. It sounds as if a couple of dudes just played an instrumental version of If I Was Your Girlfriend and sprinkled it with a few extrasounds and a stupid rap.

Blasphemy, nothing but blasphemy. lol

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Thats pretty horrible sounding. Sub-LL Cool J male/female back and forth love raps. Unsusprisingly the only good part being the looped sample. Whats George's input anyway?
