UPDATE: the news was a new track by bria valiente and was produced by Prince. NO OTHER NEWS OTHER THAN THAT IS TRUE.

I didn't hear the Bria song, so I can't speak to her talent, but it's really mind boggling that someone who professes to love/create great music and is known to rehearse his bands to death in order to get things just right, can tolerate such musical disaster from his "protegees." He must wear earplugs in the studio while they're singing and they must be REAL GOOD in the "talents" that we don't see!

I just can't believe he got us all to sit on the giant cupcake again.

He really ought to focus on a guy group, something funky like The Time, a band of guys that actually play instruments, write songs, can sing their asses off, cute but not too fine to overshadow our purple one. They don't even have to be funk they could be alternative pop or rock.
Nobody takes most of these chicks seriously! I don't even think Prince does.

That's a shame that some nut would stoop that low to use your username from here to say the horrible things that was said about luv4U on another site. Anyway, regarding the surprise we were told about, I actually thought maybe it would have been an announcement of a new album by P, a concert or something in relation to promoting his book.

Really poor effort IMO. This is Prince's attempt at a Mariah Carey sound. Derivitive and boring.

Remember when he knew how to use the Linn? Seems now he just uses the samples like everyone else and thinks he can get away with it.

What a shock, derivitive & boring. That about sums up Princes output the last 7 years.

What also disturbs me about this Bria mess is that like Airbak said, P has such an amazing ear and eye for talent when it comes to his own bands. Look at all the phenomenal musicians and great music that he's introduced us to through his bands over the years. Then on the flip, look at the steaming piles that have been released by his "proteges." It's actually insulting, which is why I don't buy this kind of garbage.

What's sad is that if Shelby or Marva - real singers - wanted to put out an album now how much time and effort would Prince put into it? It reminds me of what Rosie Gaines said years ago when she basically said that if you weren't sleeping with Prince he wasn't interested in promoting/producing an album for you. That was back when Prince ignored her solo project and instead poored money and time into Carmen Elektra - yet another talentless wonder, another in a long line of bedmates disguised as a singers/rappers. Thanks but no thanks.
