In reading the lyrics I posted from a website and the ones posted above ^ ^ ^ ^ after you all have listened to Prince's take, it seems that Prince modified or took inspiration from the Sam Price version from yesteryear.
Looking forward to hearing this -- in about a week or less. Amazon says my order has been paid for and it will arrive beteen 3 -7 Oct. | |

It seems that on the back pages of the 21 Nights book he credits J. Pleasant and the original "Beggin' Woman" song from the 1940s. It says Prince's version is an "interpolation" of the original as well as "Three Handed Woman." Never heard "Three Handed Woman" before. Pretty cool blues joint. [Edited 10/1/08 11:06am] | |
