THE GREASTEST PRINCE ALBUM OF ALL TIME!!!

Ok, so I have just recently purchased the Gold Experience....Now I've have heard the songs seperately and radio edits whatnot....
But when I heard the entire album every song back to back I was completely amazed at the composition of the tracks....

It was like a repeat of the symbol album but better. Every song as it went along had a storyline then the NPG operators were like the narrarators and the songs just ran together in succesion....

But then if that wasn't enough it was the actual composing of the songs. It's like prince took some serious time to compose these songs...every song had some different flavor that you could taste. And it wasn't like the typical prince music...it was like Prince ENHANCED or something I don't know. But this is LITERALLY THE ONLY PRINCE ALBUM WHERE I CAN LISTEN TO EVERY SONG IN A ROW WITHOUT STOPPING OR SKIPPING.

This in my opinion is by far the greatest prince album ever released....and if anyone says that his music was dull after that album....the gold experience officially makes up for every succeeding album....we can surely say that if that statement was true prince was burned out of good music after creating Gold Experience....
hav u had ur + sign 2 day.

The Gold Experience is his best post-LoveSexy album IMO... but all time? I can't just pick one!

Dirty Mind: The album that defined Prince as an artist... new original sound, consistent musically and lyrically, I feel that this album is the album Prince was born to make. smile

1999 & Purple Rain: both strike the perfect balance between accessibility and artistry. cool

ATWIAD & Parade: I think he was trying to challenge listeners with these... in both he was exploring new sounds and ideas... very experimental... needs a few listening sessions to appreciate.

SOTT: Unlike ATWIAD and Parade, here Prince tries to make "cool" and "hip" sounds... songs that are very creative but not that challenging (well, except for If I Was Your Girlfriend lol), greatest Prince album? Maybe most influential. wink

As much as I love "Controversy," I would have to say his best is "Sign O' The Times."

SOTT was and still is a phenomenal piece of creation. When it first came out I listened to the album (yes, vinyl) straight through, both records. Then I put the cassette in and played it in its entirety. I was so geeked to get to the next song, but would never skip, because the build up to the next song is what grabbed me.

Listen to SOTT in the dark (so it would have to be at night) with no one around and head phones on...maybe a couple of candles burning and you will hear the snap of the snare, the pluck of the guitar strings, the slide of the keyboards, the boom of the bass, separately and messed as one sound. And let's not forget Prince's voice. It's a beautiful thing.

Also, my top 10 Prince albums:

1-6: Dirty Mind, 1999, Purple Rain, ATWIAD, Parade, SOTT (Interchangeable depending on mood or perspective)... his top-tier albums cool

7-9: Controversy, LoveSexy, The Gold Experience (Interchangeable depending on mood or perspective)... his messy "almost" top-tier albums razz

10 : "Prince"... 3rd-class (well, atleast it's a class of it's own lol)

To me, and I have posted this on here for years, his greatest album is definately 1999.

Around the World in a Day is probably his greatest, followed by Prince being a close second.

Depending on when you ask me... I'ld agree with you totally. SOTT usually is tops on my list... but the Gold Experience is right there followed by Lovesexy. Those three stand above the pack IMO. the next set are albums like 1999, Purple Rain, 3121, the Black Album and so on and so forth.

My oppinion runs similiar to the albums you have listed I really find it too hard to pick just one but I would include those in my list and probably also Prince.
Personally I dont know that GoldExperience was best post LoveSexyalbum it really wasnt bad album but personally something about the style of it the naration and hip hop antics kinda wrecked it for me. I think I would rate LoveSymbol overall as slightly better album over Gold, even D&P and possibly even Graffiti Bridge I think are at least on par with Gold Experience.
