I remember CLEARLY when this was first released..the b-side to Let's Go Crazy. It was 3 songs that got played in EVERYBODY'S car during this time period. No matter where u went, no matter who was in the cars, this is what u heard LOUDLY...It was either When Doves Cry or Let's Go Crazy or Erotic City. And sometimes in areas where cars were allowed to cruise, u would hear Erotic City in one car playing at the same time as another car was blasting Erotic City. Easily, u could hear up to 4 cars all in spitting distance of each other, all playing Erotic City. And then u would hear a car playing LGC and WDC in the mist of the other cars bumping EC. It was like this for a good 6 weeks easy all over Southern California. Prince OWNED it in 84 and 85. Simply owned it. He definately REIGNED purple everywhere. Being a Prince fan from the get, 1984 & 85 was truly something to witness.
