I have recently given Planet Earth a listen after a while and i must say i still am fond of this track. There is a strong chorus and the guitar is amazing, anyone else like this cut?, also like s.h.o.e

Definately a standout track from the 00's so far. It's got a vulnerability and gusto to it that we don't see too often any more.

Love it.

Really good song. Leaves you wanting more. The last part sounds like he was about to launch off into a crazy long version.

The Lion of Judah

One of my favorite P songs period.

I totally love this song. I totally love PE. 4 those who hate on it will one day have a change of heart. I remember I felt the same way about The Rainbow Children and Chaos and Disorders, but after all the different threads on the TRC, I finally got it. I really got it, now I totally love both these cd’s. Thanks 2 the people on this site who had me listening 2 these 2 albums with an open mind and I truly believe this is going 2 happen 2 all u PE haters. Lion Of Judah is absolutely a beautiful song

....Judah's daughter-n-law name is tamar.....he had three sons....i had been reading the bible.....the love is in the song.....it is in Genesis 38:1.....a time line.....

it's been a while since i've listened to PE, but also love Lion of Judah. symbolism aside, the tune gives me the sense that Prince is also telling/reminding himself to be strong in life.

Best track of the last 4 years (IMO). Great guitar, vocals, lyrics. It sounds distinctly like a Prince song

In relation to this song i typed the word 'pretentious' into google images, and this was the first photo that appeared....
So it's fitting i guess...

"Lion of Judah" is a great work. The guitar parts R perfect.

I find something about it intensely annoying. Among other things it sounds very run of the mill.
It came on my Ipod and I thought it was a Springsteen song.
Then a Springsteen song off one of the new albums came on (my brother uploaded them he's a fan) and I actually preferred it - and I never liked Springsteen that much...

I'm not implying that Prince's song is in celebration of the Emperor, however, the references in the song certainly note the concept of victory over enemies, liberation and an enlightenment to people's true place in the history of the world, much like the liberation of the people of Ethiopia and other African nations.

The song is beautiful and inspiring.

I honestly think it is one of THE worst songs Prince has ever done. It basically is a big ball of cheese wrapped around some decent guitar work. Are you guys sure you're not just high off the fact that Wendy is on the track? I'm listening to it now, and all I want to do is take a crap....
