Which one? I havent seen the movie in years. Help me out.

the one where he add's "where is my baby? where can be?" and ends with "poor lonely computer" and i think he talks about walking through a hall naming doors

I indeed meant the version with the hallway speech. It to me sounds like the most complete, even if it is not the longest version.

What happened to Data Bank between Prince's unreleased version and The Time's released one is a crime.

That's easy:
Computer Blue
The Beautiful Ones
Darling Nikki
I LOVE the o.g. versions before P edited them down for the Purple Rain album. More screams, loger guitar solos, etc. I dig P's version of "Dance Electric". I know my boy A.C. released it so this might not count but ask me if I give a fuck. I know everybody's always harping on how the alternate version of "Something In The Water" is better but it isn't. The one that's on the album KILLS the alternate version to me. "We Can Funk" is much better than the released mess.

i agree wholeheartedly

I was going to mention that one but then I thought of The Dance Electric. I like Mazarati's version of "Jerk Out" over The Time's. I haven't heard this but I have heard of it and that's P's version of "Ice Cream Castles". I wrote a thread about him having a version of this and Vanity 6"s "3x2=6". I would LOVE to get my hands on this shit.

Yeah, I remember that thread. That was a good one. I like pretty much any thread you start.

I agree with you too about Dance Electric and Jerk Out. With those, though, at least the released versions are still really good, in my opinion. But Data Bank...damn.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Praise for that wonderful version. The 'Hallway speech' version IS the real 'Computer blue' to me.

He's probably drunk too.

We Can Funk with The Revolution is SO much more a SONG than the one with George Clinton, which I like also...

Joy In Repetition's original intro.

Old Friends 4 Sale's original lyrics.

Clouds's original soundscape.

Rebirth Of The Flesh's studio version with the word MOTHERFUCKER unedited.

I like NPG In This Funky House's original better cuz in that version I can hear my own voice.

Hi, Huey! I guess that's not the version on the download single 'Bataclan/All the critics love U in Paris'?

Yes. The song started out as an instrumetnal blues jam, which some people took to be Johnny, so they started scanting "NPG in the motherfucking house"
The Prince stops the song, saying that it's old and that we need something new. The speech was actually cool, I understand that he moved on from cuss words, but I just miss the dirty little critter, you know?

Is why I posted that I did not know if he was obliged to credit.
