And this really isn't about the super bowl, it's about the halftime entertainment which many people turn into just to watch that, but not the game itself.

I thought it was a terrific performance.

Prince knew his target audience well---majority striaght, white, male meat and potatoes, rock & roll lovin' folks.

So the songs were aimed at that demographic--they were relatively safe , non challenging songs, and the performance was very tight. Prince had to condense the usual performance and shave five minutes off of it I'm told--and he pulled through great.


I loved his rendition of "Best of You" and I thought his guitar solo for that was much better than the Foo Fighters version.

Overall, it announced to the world that Prince was indeed still in top form. Shame Planet Earth deflated all that a few months later.


Oh, then Websheriff. Prince sure can fuck up momentum after he builds it.

WRONG not new.. old news IMHO the SB show was BEGINING of this year! Therefore old news, IMHO. That ratings deal should of and prolly was posted by the media LONG TIME AGO when and after it aired, ever think of that. I remember threads saying "Prince performance rated #1 at Superbowl and the like. Another point the superbowl IS OVER! OLD NEWS imho. still your not going ot change my mind about it being old or new news to me if the superbowl happen THEN its OLD news.
