so does anyone have a problem with family members being complete idiots about being into prince's music?

this is basically a rant thread and for that i do apoligise now

but my brother is a complete idiot when it comes to prince he is sat oppersite me giving out all the insults he can think of trying to encourage me to react to his stupidity the only one i have managed not to reply to is the 'prince is a shrimp and not worth a penny' which was when i pointed out the fact that this time last year he was in London doing 21 shows for which he got payed more than my brother is likely to earn in a life time i dont think he appreciates the truth cos he has now stolen my laptop charger and covered me in his stupid aftershave spray seriously he is like 18 and still acting like this do they ever grow out of it

my grandma used to say he was a pervert and tried to get us to believe he threw used condoms into the audience at his concerts.

My hubby is not into Prince.... and it is because he is jealous.

I have no problem... my parents don´t speak english so they don´t understand the lyrics, may be that would be the problem before but I don´t think now...

My parents like Prince...My brother thinks he's okay...He's a heavy metal type.

My sister introduced me to Prince.

My brother is a guitarist with his own music school (Musicology ) and has a great lot of respect for the man and his music.

Don't know about my parents, but they have good taste in music and surely recognize his genious and talent!

Some of them like him and some of them don't. As for those that don't, big deal. It ain't that serious. There's a lot of stuff that they like that I don't like. Everybody isn't supposed to like the same thing anyway.

I have no idea if my parents like prince or not, but they do like a lot of talented musicians so i'm sure they would. my brother is a little wannabe emo kid that listens to fallout boy () so that would deff be a no... And my 9 year old sister is obsessed with disney/hannah montanna/jonas brothers/high school musical/the cheetah girls...

My family respect his music but they dont ''love'' him as much as me. My mom is really the only person that insults his height, and my sister calls him feminine but had to admit he was lookin real good in the Most beautiful girl video. Although shes not crazy about his songs 2 much she loves most beautiful girl in the world, I would die 4 u and raspberry beret.

my dad and mum introduced me to Prince. apparantly one of the first songs i ever heard when i was born was When doves cry....i've got the very same record to this day so glad they did...

I'm a grownass woman and my musical tastes are mine. If my family has a problem with it, they keep it to themselves.

As well they should, given some of the crap they listen to.

my mom was a big prince fan, though she didn't care for anything much after purple rain or ATWIAD. i've told my story on here a million times about how, for my 14th birthday, my mom got me every prince album on vinyl from "for you" up through "purple rain" and i heard all those albums for the first time on the same day (best birthday ever!), and that my mom took me to my first ever concert, which was prince & the revolution's purple rain tour. my mom even "confiscated" the drowned rat shower poster from my copy of "controversy" and tacked it up in her bedroom.

we had a lot of likes in common, but prince was probably the first time my mom and i were both excited about new music at the same time, and we had a great time famming out together during the purple rain era.

constantly i got heckled by my family and now my mother is in2 a certain singer from american idol and if u don't think payback can not b enjoyable, think again cause i tease her about this guy all the time!!

my cousins used to tease me about Prince. Especially after he changed his name. But then by that time I stopped liking his anyway. For whatever reason, my interest is Prince these days has little to do with his music.
