In my opinion, the whole New Power Soul tour and the time from 1997-2000 had quite a dark and sad feel but that´s just my impression.
I loved the Gold Experience/Ultimate Live Experience shows...neither happy nor sad but he was definitely on fire and the band was supertight..with Michael Bland on drums and Sonny Thompson on the bass....good old days. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?" | |

The song, "Solo," is Prince feeling the most abandoned...or isolated within an emotion that only he owns.
I have a lot of compassion when I hear that song...I don't believe that Prince was unhappy through an entire album...I believe that Prince carries a focus on the light...even if Prince feels left in the, "Dark."  "The Lion Sleeps Tonight... | |
