I thought I was bad. My husband and I are going to see Purple Rain at Red Rocks Ampitheater tonight. There is suppose to be a great local funk band and a comedian.
My husband calls me and asks me to run by the thrift store on my way home from work and buy an extra large women's rufflely shirt. "You are not going to dress like Prince!" I responded. I guess the guys at work have all gone to the 'Films on the Rocks' series, and everyone dresses up depending on the film. Like when they showed 'Braveheart', everyone came in kilts. My husband won't care if not one other person is dressed up. He also does a great impression. I am going to stick to wearing purple. I can't pull off Apples anyway. Peace. Love. Prince

"Purple Rain," has got to be a blast in that mood... "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

That sounds like fun, don't forget to report back tell us all about it. I went to red rocks a few years ago, on an excursion when i was in Denver, there wasn't a concert on, but it's lovely place.

Well, my husband couldn't pull together an outfit that fast, so he stuck with wearing purple.
It rained horribly for about an hour delaying everything. But, then it cleared up and all the people emerged from their cars. I heard there was about 1400 people. The weather turned out to be beautiful. Red Rocks is such an exciting place to go, even to see a movie that I have seen 100 times. Just a few guys dressed like Prince. There was one that was riding around in the parking lot with his girlfriend, on a vespa scooter! But, one guy I saw while we were leaving, might be a Prince impersonator. He was his size in height and weight, and was wearing a tight lace white shirt and tight purple pants. The hair looked just like his. The local funk band- US Pipe did most of the songs from Purple Rain. It's hard at first to hear someone else play those songs. It just makes you want to see the real thing. But, the audience was singing and dancing along. The comeidan was lame, but they played a cartoon before the movie. Classic Bugs Bunny. Very Cool. I won't tell you the plot of the movie. I'd hate to give the ending away. LOL But everyone would cheer for the music performances like it really was a concert. There was a lot of talking back to the screen. I am not a spring chichen. Climbing back up Red Rocks to leave almost killed me. I am feeling it this am. It's was a great time. And all I could think was, Prince and the Revolution and the Time need to play here for the 25 anniversary of the movie. Peace. Love. Prince
