100% there will be something happening. The process started with the Time performing at the Grammy's and their subsequent Vegas run + pending new CD, Sheils has been more visible over the last couple of years and W&L have a new CD due, the Family had a new CD pending etc. all in all 2009 may be time to dust of your, paisley, lace and velvet outfits!.

thank u!!!

it's already happend on 2 seperate occasions ..get over it!!! they r so overated that's it's sad, how come no one mentions a sign o the times/lovesexy reunion band with the xception of boni of course, but dang they were more tighter and funkier than any conception of the revolution.

give me a reunion of the gold experience npg instead
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Well we can only hope that he's seen sense but just a couple of points;

On the parade tour he wasn't a JW.

Wendy has gone on record saying that he refused a Revolution reunion early this century because he had issues with gays and jews ( which would include Wendy - on two counts!! Lisa, Bobby Z and I'm not sure about Matt Fink)..

Listen to Family Name.

Now if P could put together a new project with Wendy, Lisa, Shelia, Kat Dyson and Rhonda, that would be pretty slammin'.

Minus Kat Dyson and Rhonda. Rhonda was Prince's most Innapropriate bas player if you ask me.

Shelia and Wendy is a pretty hot band by itself. They are really the only two from the past that I feel like should come back. I'd love to see a full on REVOLUTION, but then I think Shelia was born to drum for Prince, and it doesn't make sense to bring back 4/5ths of the Revolution.

Really the only band that lived up to near what the Revolution did was the Sign/Lovesexy band.

I'd love to see a reunion. I know it's probably way past being possible or probable... but I never saw them way back when, I was too young. I want to see them.

I seriously hope not. Not that I don't like the idea, but can you imagine trying to muster that energy again? Not to mention many many songs could/would not be performed.

I do think a band mixed with band members through out his carreer would be better. Certainly including Wendy and/or Lisa, Shelia E, Levi, and a few others. But I don't see it happening.

I can't see a Revolution reunion. But as I said once before, I would love to see a Prince line-up with:
Wendy
Lisa
Sonny T.
and
Michael Bland
and we can throw in Eric Leeds for kicks. razz

I'm nodding.

I would add another keyboard (Renato!).

I think that the past is so beautiful to remember, it has the power to take U back, but it should never be brought up to live again, it never works.
Wendy and Lisa collaborations with Prince through the last few years are the right choices, both emotionally and professionally.

Why not?

I mean, Bruce Springsteen has reunited with his E-street band several times during his career.

And next to that, Princes career has been stagnating for quite some time now. Musicology might have brought him back in the public eye, but it wasn't exactly a smashing comeback.

Both the 3121 and Planet Earth album sound like they were made up of 'poorly warmed up' dishes from the Vault.

At this moment i can see Princes career being on a crossroad (again): a choice for going into obscurity again (the NPGMC years, the weird 'slave'-fuelled actions, the tiresome use of princebonics) or going for a commercial come-back: revive images of the past, reacting on feelings of nostalgy. Reunite the Revolution for a tour (and/or album) can help him with that.

But on a personal level i think both paths will be a 'dead end'. I think he is too proud and too selfish to maintain some 'low key' career.
On the other hand, a reunion with the Revolution will surely furfill nostalgic feelings among the people, but probably for not longer then 1 or 2 years. After the initial buzz, life will go on. Its not something that can ultimately revive his career for a longer period.

The only way for Prince to prevent him from becoming 'an oldies parade' (like James Brown essentialy was during the last decades of his life) or some 'freaky imago' lost in obscurity (Like Michael Jackson is nowadays) is to reinvent himself as an artist, i think.
That doesnt mean he should turn into a country-artist or classical composer suddenly, and he also doesn't have to reinvent the wheels of music.
What is far more important is that he gets back in touch with his muse again:
That he sounds like he is enjoying the music he is making, that he gets a kick out of surprising himself, that he opens himself for the magic fluence of creativity, instead of dumbing himself down with money and big houses (3121) or dogmatic religion (The Rainbow Children).

To conclude, a simple advice: Prince, just play the 3121 CD first and after that listen to the Parade CD. biggrin

How so? I think they were formidable live...in the studio a lot better. But I think much of his better stuff was not with the Revolution...considering they are only 4 albums. I think the best band he had was during the lovesexy years.

Yes Your right BUT he waw also into the Bible there fore he was against it then too but STILL performed with W&L THAT was my point!

Wendy has gone on record saying that he refused a Revolution reunion early this century because he had issues with gays and jews ( which would include Wendy - on two counts!! Lisa, Bobby Z and I'm not sure about Matt Fink)..
THAT WAS EARLIER THIS DECADE like you said....THIS IS NOW a couple of years ago HE DID perform with Wendy AND Lisa at Brits or did you not watch the show or read what I said.I wasnt tlaking about Bobby, Matt or Mark re-read my post again, I was strickly talking about W&L.

Listen to Family Name.
Okay jsut because Prince write a song about something HE CAN change his mind later like he always does and we all seen him do.

Ah yes!!! Once again, if the Revolution don't reunite it's ...ALL LARRY'S FAULT!!!!!

neutral Where did I say it was anyones fault besides Prince's in the following post? You obivously missed my entire point.

MY POINT IS: he still performs with Wendy and Lisa even though he is supposed to be JW which cancels out your original statement. Which is this:

No. As a JW he has a problem with jews and homosexuals....not nice to hear, I know, but true.

Think about it IF he is that scared or homophobic he would not be asking for their help period!Let alone be seen on stage with either of them. Get my drift now?

With all do respect to The Revolution, don't know if they can hang with Prince. He's still has so much energy. It was great to see Wendy with him in London and on Tavis Smiley, but she's looking a little tired.....

On the flip side, if it could work out, then it would be great to see them together again! cool

I used to want that but now I don't care anymore. I have seen Prince and Wendy perform together during an aftershow in L.A. during the Musicology tour and I loved it. If a full reunion happens, I'll be excited but if not, I'll be cool. I've made it this long without one, I can keep going.
