Well I know his biggest fan base after Diamonds and pearls was definitely Europe.
It seems to switch back and forth throughout his career. But overall I would say europe since his Purple Rain massive days in the states. Symbol etc did not do well in the USA but were good sellers across europe..

It really seems to depend which continent he is working.

After 1987 the focus seemed to shift to Europe with The Netherlands, UK and France swapping the torch.
It really kept going back and forth.
After D&P in 1992 and Oprah in 1996 US
During his struggle 1993-1995 Europe.

In 2004-After the musicology tour and him going more mainstream I would definitely say the US.

i'm thinkin that this would have been a major consideration for P and his people when deciding on the venue for his residency in 2007, as well as the HUGE number of shows. If it had been thought 2 be anywhere else, like another country in europe, then a more 'central' location would have been chosen u would think, rather than go all out 4 the UK. (either way, those of us here in the UK, sure r glad he chose us 4 the xperiment!).

The USA is nowhere near his largest. Why do you think he plays Europe all the time?
