Gotta Stop Messing about I have always liked this song as just a quirky little P track, but today I was listening to this while killing myself slowly working this corporate shit. It really struck me that this song is amazing! the synths alone is enough for me. Damn why can't P start using these sounds again. Damn I'm frustrated. How did he come from this to Planet Earth??
There was some good stuff on PE, but overall it was complete cheese. Lions of Judah-wtf is that shit? Wow, this just turned into a rant about PE when it's supposed to be about Gotta messing about. who else feels this track?? Holla!

Yeah, I know what you mean. I thought Prince kind of lost it when he made PE. (OH boy!) Till the end of time, I will always and forever love Pink Cashmere!!! I love that song so much because it has many many different instruments, and it sounds like one big beautiful symphony. It's a masterpiece!!

Love, love, love it. It's a jam.
And if anyone ever figures out what he's saying after, "Hey, was it good, boy?" please let me know.

It's Prince combining funk and New Wave - which is what I think he was probably most brilliant at. Would love to hear those sounds again but I'm sure we never will. the music knows what your motives are when you are making it
listen to The Replacements - its good for the soul

Great track...This was the first 12' I ever bought. It was the b-side to "Let's Work". I've always dug this track. One of my favorite b-sides definately. SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him." http://ccoshea19.googlepa...ssanctuary http://ccoshea19.googlepages.com

Yeah I love the synth hook, classic early prince, but this song came alive for me hearing his live renditions on the Dirty Mind tour.....far more bite to it. Still cant believe he didnt put it on Dirty Mind.....would've been perfect on there.

Great track, and an A-side in it's own right over here.
Dunno what the problem is with comparing it to PE, Dirty Mind is getting on for 30 years ago! And Lion Of Judah is one of the best post-Millenium tracks IMO.

This is probably my favorite Prince jam of all time.
It's just so cool and fun and like work out to it and everything. I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me. Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots. Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol. Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol. Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

Cool ass song Some people think I'm kinda cute
But that don't compute when it comes 2 Y-O-U.

Somehow, this track brings to mind Devo and Talking heads.
I like it, havent given it enough listening though. Freedom is to trust that you're doing what you must according to your lust

This is one of the most recent additions to my collection:
Love the song, I have it on the B-side of "Let's work" and the 12" promo as well. Making love and music are the only things worth fighting for.

I love Planet Earth...However I agree with how beautiful "Pink Cashmere," is...It could be used for a "Victoria Secret," commercial...seeing as that the "Pink Panther," movie...was blah. "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

This song also houses some of his best yells on record.
