Have we seen the end?

It seem's like we've reached the end of Prince's career. His last album was short and sub-par to earlier works. He hasn't toured in the US in quite sometime. I think after the 21 Nights Book, it might be the end.
Are you ready for Jehovah's return? Cuz if you not *holds up TRC*

P is probably working on some mega masterpiece at home that is going to blow up the billboard charts!!! I just pray that he does better than PE because that was probably not one of his best. I think we all agree.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

highfive

Making music is what he does and the obvious answer is NO. PE might not have been no purple rain or sign 'o' the times but dudes gona get right back his career is far from the end like he said 'Im always writing'. AND JUST BECAUSE HE HASNT TOURED THE US YET doesnt mean shit he still sold out arena's over in London and im sure he'd do the same in the US so calm down. We may not hear or see him as much as we see that fat head 50 cent whos career is almost ghost BUT not Prince's.

God, let's hope so. The end is a good thing. Like a snake shedding its skin. Move forward, embrace the uncomfortable newness of the suit, and don't look back.

Haystack

The last three albums were just a short, three and a half year part of his career that also included many great live experiences (March 2004 - Sept 2007).

The 21 Nights project is a holding operation before the next P phase. I'd put money on it.

Prince has had highs and lows throughout his career and it's only retrospectively that most of those lows have been looked back upon as not-quite-so-lows.
At the time of their release, Come, TGE and Chaos & Disorder were received with a meh attitude amongst many, many fans who were longing for a supposed 'return to form', whatever that meant. But look how those 90s albums are viewed now.

Prince has still got many, many years to blow us away. 50 ain't old, it just means you can't necessarily do the splits anymore without doing yourself an injury.

Whatever Prince does...even if it is dreaming...will be a beautiful thing.

Prince doesn't have to keep up with what other's expect of his yesterday...Prince only has to keep pace with his, "NOW!." cool

Well, to be fair to him, he has retired from actually turning up for any other concerts since the O2.....

Most of these young people haven't been around all Prince's career and don't realize that he can dissapear for years without a word. Then come back great, they're use to instant gratification. That ain't Prince.

I was thinking about it these days. His last 3 albums were good, but very short and with almost no experimental things.

I hope he takes this break and surprises us. He was always unpredictable.

I only hope he doesnt end his career being a ´Vegas act´

Here's something for you. I think a lot of people in here want Prince to retire. So many people have spoken so roughly about Prince's last 3 albums as if they could single-handedly destroy everything Prince has created in the last 30 years. You have so many here talking about Prince as if he was already retired or even dead NOW. I think it would make some people here happy to see Prince "ride off into the sunset" so that they can justify not having to deal with the new music anymore, and I'm not talking about that "Vault" shit either. Well guess what, Prince ain't goin NOWHERE. Prince might take time off, but Prince isn't done. Hell, he's far from it. Now YOU might be done with him, which begs the question to be asked, "Why are you still here?" but that's for another thread, but Prince won't be going ANYWHERE anytime soon. Even if he passed away today, God forbid, Prince will still be around because of his music. Accept it and get used to it.

Tell em Purplecam biggrin and it's got a lot to do with AGE. the ones that have just jumped on the Prince wagon in the last few years have no idea what it really is to hang in there with Prince, I swear to GOD, NO IDEA!
