What kind of Trenchcoats did he wear ( controversy / dirty mind )if anyone knows. I am asking cuz I would think someone here might know something... and the kind of BOOTS ( on his feet >.< ) he wore alot from like Purple Rain.

Interesting question. I wrote a thread shortly after I joined this site about did any music performer ever influence the way u dressed. In that thread, I mentioned how when I was in Jr. high and high school, I had 4 of these trench coats. Their just a standard double breasted trench. Rather thin material. Not heavy at all. You can find them at any thrift shop. At least that's where I bought all of mine. This was the 80's mind you. I went to this shop named Restyle Too that sold tons of new wave/punk type clothing. That's where I bought these silver studs that were like push pins in a way. They looked exactly like the ones that P had on his shoulder. So that's where I put mine in the trenchcoat. And on the other shoulder, I glued guitar picks on there. Just like Dez had on the inner sleeve of Dirty Mind. I had two navy blue ones, a black one and a light green one.

I had and still have big hair...but in the early 80's, I never wore my hair over one eye. My hair was a cross between Dez and Jesse. I'm on the PR 20th year special edition when they show footage of the premire. I'm in like 5 different shots. I have on a white headband, a white ruffled shirt, black coat & white gloves! Can't miss me.

In 1985, after seeing a male guitar player wearing a guitar pick for an earring...I made a bunch of guitar pick earrings in many styles...including the trianged shaped picks..., I put them all on consignment...and they all sold within a month.

thekid3121 Hello, I have one of those awsome Trench coats and Two pairs of his boots. I wore the Shiny Purple Trench coat on stage on 07/07/07 at the target center. I had a blast. I also wore his boots.

I think his trench coat was portraying the 'flasher' look, that was popular back then bacause he was always half-naked underneath!

Hello, I paid a arm and a leg. for the Purple Trench and both pairs of boots, I have a black pair and a Lime green pait with a Peach bat on the toe. I can wear both pairs of boots. Prince has a very hight arch. and both pair have a silver bracket on the botton of both pairs. the trench coat also fit. when i was at the concert the Bodyguards came to me a few times and asked me a few queations about my jacket. I thought that was cool.

Sorry to disapoint U guys, but unfortunately i dont own these boots!..I wish i did...I saw them on EBAY and as you do saved the pic...great to know that some purple person had them.I didn't follow up to see how much they went for, still im sharing the pic with U all ...hope the person who bought them can give us a bit more info on how all this came about...
