Warner & protege Masters

I think I know that Warner owns the rights of Protege recordings b4 the release of Paisley Park label in 1985, but since then, does Prince have control of any of his Paisley Park labelmates' recordings at all?

Yeah I heard he was going to sell the TC Ellis masters for an estimated $85 million. There is a serious bidding war going on for that. One can only imagine what the Carmen Electra masters will go for when Prince decides to sell them.

Warners own all protege material released upto 1996... excluding GoldNigga cuz that was an Indie release.
It doesnt matter where (Paisley Park) they were recorded.

Then why on earth they don't re-release the Madhouse albums on CD ?!?! ... I'd be fine even if the thing is not remastered and the package looks the same. Come on, one just have to have a look to eBay and find people fighting over those CDs. A simple pressing of 10,000 CDs wouldn't be a crazy thing when there's a demand for this stuff.

PS: Beware of BOOTLEG replicas of the Madhouse albums going around lately. They don't come cheap exactly and it's not the original thing!.

I think Warners has the rights to those albums. Although Paisley was his label. Funny how these things work sometimes.

Warners does own all of those albums. Mavis Staples The Voice is the only album they don't own the masters to. If you read the legal lingo on the back of the cd (or that is printed on the actual cd around the outside edge, you will see it says (p) 19__ Warner Brothers Records (c) 19__ Warner Brothers Records. The (P) means that Warners owns the master recordings and the (c) is for the actual cd, packaging, etc.
