the song had the potential to be good. nice melody, decent lyrics, and a cool guitar solo at the end.

but his awful nasal ass voice ruined it all neutral

The song is pretty. And still another song that leaves us to be curious. Prince is not sure if someone loves him or not. This is puzzling...because love includes an entire scale of emotions...So, is he waiting for her to do something in particular to prove that she loves him? What could she do? Maybe glue rose petals all over herself, in an International array of species and run around for the news. And then He could pick her up in the psyche ward.

the music of the song has the power that a great Prince song tends to have, but lyrically it reminds me of "You Are Not Alone" by MJ, in terms of believability why would Prince strike his enemies down like Jesus? (He did this also in If I Was The Man In Your Life, and in either case, it's a misinterpretation of the Golden Rule.

It is an unbelievable Prince song- the only song on Planet Earth that isn't immediate. Now, I love a lot of the other tracks, but "Lion of Judah" just towers over the rest for me.

Agreed. The themes he touches here are quite unusual for him. As is the song itself and the sound, the voice, the arrangement. Quite a unique song actually and that's saying something of course after so many years. I still don't listen to it that often because the album unfortunately does not really make me go back to it often.

Yes- the vulnerability in particular is rarely so directly stated in a Prince song. And that guttural guitar solo at the end just bleeds with pain. A sort of "Anna Stesia" for the new decade.

The songs and lyrics are well crafted. The problem is that listeners are not as complex as they used to be. People do not know what a metaphor is anymore.

It's a great track, one of the best in recent years. I think it shows his voice isn't quite what it used to be though.

Wow...this is the weakest (by far) song on that CD...an excellent CD it is.
Those of you who love it must think PE is the greatest CD since PR.
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
