NOT EVERYTHING prince does musically is great. prince has be an inconsistant musician since 1989. prince has had a good song or album here and there but its less frequent these days. i'm a fan for 25years and i know classic prince 2 cringing prince music.

Some people like everything Prince has done. Some don't. This is a forum. People who don't understand "different stokes for different folks" are the ones that are "touchy". Some of these same people want to force their ideas on people because others disargee with them. I am a fan of Prince past and current work. Some people are not and I respect that. Music is subjective.

This place has the worst haters, I've ever seen. Remeber the fan that wished Prince would die because he cancelled his concert in Ireland?! How can you wish a person would die because you can't go see them??

I think some people are "touchy" because sometimes there is a level of unfairness aimed at Prince. Fans have such high expectations built up over several decades of brilliance. We also have a complex, visceral and deep-seated personal investment in this amazing art that has had a profound influence on our lives. And a lot of us understand that art is not produced on an assembly line and forgive P for having creative highs and lows. What artist hasn't. I would argue that P has had more extreme highs than most artists in any medium.

If you doubt P's output or work ethic check his musical contemporaries and tell me what they've done over the last 20 years (Sting, George Michael, TTD, Madonna, Stanley Jordan, etc.)

i liked the gold experience, d&p was fine, i liked half of the symbol album, i enjoyed the TRC and emancipation..... otherwise the come album, the vault album, nps, RAVE, 3121, musicology, and PE. prince since 2001 hasn't done anything innovative or exciting at all. I still think he is one of the best live acts of all time. i just think that it's obvious that his supreme works came from his 79 to 88 period. he connected with the audience musically. prince's image and music went hand and hand on each of those works. prince statred 2 follow the trends after 1988. prince was the trend setter from 79 to 88. i'm not being a hater..i'm just speaking the truth of a long time prince fan. i would rather here when u were mine live over NOW!.... the 90's music had alot more filler and half baked ideas. PRINCE's brain was at its height from 79 to 88. his vision was clear of what direction he was going in.

prince's catalog is such a giant rorschach test that i find it amazing how one person can be adamant about one opinion and then someone else offer an opposite opinion as the gospel truth about a particular album or song's worth.

i have strong feelings, both positive and negative, about a lot of prince's material, and i might be really spirited in my views but i do realize they're MINE, and if someone else likes what i don't like or vice versa, that's the effect of his crazy grab back of music. nobody's truly right or wrong, it's just everyone has a different ear.

in short: TOUCH IIIIT!!!!
