Prince & Clowns

as I'm listening 2 P on the radio 2day in Chgo - Doug Banks show - they start reminiSING abt P back in the day. Doug's sidekick, DeeDee says she remembers a benefit of some kind where Ronald McDonald was there. All of a sudden there was chaos & disorder & they had 2 rush Ronald away from the stage. Apparently P would not take the stage or per4m as long as Ronald was there. Any1 ever hear that P is afraid of clowns? I've been amazed over time 2 learn how many folx r. no criticism or tease - just interesting.

I don't know...If it has something to do with a possible picture being taken...Maybe it would lead to a misunderstood, advertising stunt.

I think that has more to do with Prince being a vegan and not wanting it to appear that he was endorsing McDonalds in any way.

Ive never heard that before!i thought it was just kids who were afraid of clowns, i expect the macdonalds thing was to do with no advertising etc, the only brand i know prince nearly endorsed was pepsi never heard of any others.

It's been going around for more than 10 years about a different celebrities, probably started by some kids. Mature people pay it no attention, trust me. confused

Clowns are just damn freaky. I've always hated them. Some people are indifferent to them, but I always believed even kids who loved them were evil.

Plus if you're a cool rock star, you definitely don't want any reports (not to mention photos) of you and Ronald McDonald occupying the same space and time!
