Which is your favorite Prince-album from 2000 and forward?

There are great songs on all those albums but with songs such as Lolita, Black Sweat, Love and Get On The Boat, my choice is 3121.

A better question would be "Is there such a thing as a good Shorty album from 2000 and forward?"

i think 'the rainbow children' is the one he put the most thought into, but i think 'musicology' is probably the one i've listened to most from his post-2000 output.

Rainbow Children and 3121 are my faves. "Musicology" would have been up there too if it had been released as a live album because live the album sounds great, but in the studio the songs come across as stale and flat confused.

I think i'm leaning towards 3121 more than anything though. I just love that album and have it on repeat all the time.

THE RAINBOW CHILDREN hands down. musicology was a safe album. 3121 and planet earth were nothing to write home about. i'll take 1995 to 2000 over his latest period of music smile

The Rainbow Children, most definitely, without hesitation!!!

Honestly, this decade has been really good musically for Prince, with the exception of Planet Earth!!! This has also probably been the 2nd most successful period of his career!!!

There hasn't been this much goodwill toward him in a long time!!!

totally disagree with that. musicology was all fell on the 20th ann. of purple rain. the album itself was okay. 3121 was okay. planet earth well sad

i meant to say that musicology was helped by the nostalgia of the 20th ann. of PR. prince sold copies at the concerts which inflated the sales numbers. the album was by the numbers prince. 3121 was okay. and we know the rest sad

Seriously, i'd throw all of them away except for TRC.
That's the most "Prince" sounding album he made in a very long time.
And everything since has been shite.

I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Planet Earth - is my favorite.

then Rainbow Children - really a piece of art.

Musicology had some good songs on it.

3121 - I listened to this again a few weeks ago and it sounded as if Prince was trying too hard to have a party record. I guess going thru a divorce will do that to you. Planet Earth sounds more confident. Lolita - while its fun, sounds like an old Time song that was probaly a bit raunchy when written that he cleaned up for 3121.

Planet Earth again is my favorite.

Probably The Rainbow Children... still.

Planet Earth has some really stunning moments, but it just falls short with a couple of filler tracks IMO (All The Midnights, Resolution).
