yeah
and love that simple horn bit
and that little drum roll thing
You saw the apple
hanging on the tree,
But missed the orchid
in your gaze

Better than Blue Light by far, but the closest that P has got to a decent reggae vibe for me is 17 Days. Doesn't try to be a reggae track, but go listen and hear that delicious reggae lick under the surface.

I love it but yes, I have to block out Showgirls to enjoy it. I usually try to focus on the Glam Slam performance with Mayte instead.

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I love it! One of the few Prince songs that gets me in "the mood". I haven't seen Showgirls and based on the responses, I think that's a good thing. nod
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I've never seen showgirls, heard it was pretty bad tho. They must have had Prince's permission to use it. smile

Despite it appearing in a particularly excellent scene in the celluloid masterpiece, Showgirls, I don't like this song at all.

I love its beat/rhythm! The little leaflet that comes with the Crystal Ball CDs set says for that song "Inspired by an episode on a weight-lifting bench".

The song is perfect for weight-lifting btw, perfect tempo. And it's great for some other things too:)..

I love this song as well. I don't give a crap if it was on Showgirls. I think it's a great jam. I've always been curious about how it's one of the only reggae style songs Prince has done. unless theres another reggae styled one out there that I'm unware of.. lol besides in his vault.
