This Prince thing that I've had for close to twenty something years is not as strong now I still love the music, videos and the man, but I think with age my fandom has changed But still it amazes me when I see crazy threads on here Wouldn't some of us be ashamed if Prince actually read some of this shit one day?

I'm ashamed that I'm reading it.

I think after 50 years of living and 30 years in the business, it would take a lot more than this to shame Prince. It would probably crack him up.

ya know, in terms of what prince is doing in the here and now, i keep up with it more because it's tradition and not so much because i'm continually satisfied and challenged by every new thing he does.

and while i might find a way to appreciate most of what he does these days on its own terms, his work doesn't transport me like it did the first time i cracked the cellophane on ATWIAD or SOTT.

and really, you know, there's still a bit of magic and goosepimple in those old albums if i'm in the right mood and it's been long enough since the last time i've heard one of em all the way through. i can still listen to parade sometimes and think 'my GOD, what made him come up with some of this stuff?!'

if he does read this, i just hope he can appreciate the brilliance of his own randomness as it used to exist in his work. i miss the "avant purple" as he once called it, and i'm glad a lot of it was recorded for posterity.

I amaze myself that you take Prince and his things as he was so far away in the time but there are much people like me that we are begining to enjoy his things and we wait much more from him...
