Wow. I do miss the old Org. The black backgrounds were cool as shit. And while it's fun to make up our own topics (we do have a blast) sometimes I miss the limited format we used to have. It does get out of control sometimes. Uh oh, the anarchist is turning into a fascist! Help!

Some of you people need to get a decent eductaion.

Yes, Prince recorded those songs. BUT WB paid him handsomely for that. In return, they handled all the business aspects: promoting it, getting the damn thing in the shops, collecting royalties etc...


In case you haven't noticed, all of that is not as easy as it looks, just ask Prince. Why do you think he's shopping his new album to a major? Hell, WB paid Prince a lot of money just to do what they're suypposed to do - remember the $ 100 million contract?


Of course they want something in return. Hence the rights to his master tapes. Well duh. My current employer also owns the scripts I write. So? I knew that was the deal when I went into a lucrative deal with them. If I disagree, nothing's stopping me from "becoming my own master".


But that doesn't involve me getting ownership of all my scripts I wrote while working for my current employer. Of course not: I got paid for those, they're NOT MINE ANYMORE. Of course, in an abstract way they're still mine. If someone asks, it's ME that did the programming on such and such website.


Time for Prince to stop whining, and time for some of you to GET REAL. Get educated.
