Why are the lyric transcriptions so BAD? Okay, flame on...does anyone know the source of the Prince lyric transcriptions that have existed for at least ten years online, and yet (occasionally) screw up very basic phrases? The one that has bugged me from the first time I saw it (probably in '92 or '93) is the crowd noise between "Eye No" and "Alphabet St." -- I give you the transcription that will not die:
[sleep] sandwich, that's right I need the green three sheets. That's right. A peanut-butter sandwich Is it just me? How hard can it be to see that the payoff to the joke about a sleep sandwich is not "I need the green three sheets"? I swear, every site I've gone to, this thing is perpetuated like the plague. Are there good lyric sites out there? | |

Oh, my God, I'm glad I'm not the only one. This drives me crazy! Even dttl or however they spell it. They're regarded as the best, and even they fuck up all the time. | |

In defence of the dtt, they ALWAYS took great care in transcribing lyrics.
Many phrases were voted upon by the team to ensure they were as accurrate as possible. Unsure transcriptions were usually indicated. They offered lyrics as they heard them. If you disagree with what is/was posted - why not email the site that hosts the lyrics and actually contribute to the community rather than bitch about someone else's work? ~When you understand why you dismiss all other gods, then you will understand why I dismiss yours~ | |

Well said. the original contributor is complaining about something they claim they saw in 1992 or 1993. If it is something that bothers you so much and you can do something about it, why wait ten years and still moan about it rather than try to put it right?

most of the decent lyrics transcription sites are gone now sadly,I've 2 lyrics section on my website though,one for the NPGMC material and another for bootleg albums ifanyones interested,just click on the link on my signature and youll find them hopefully  Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :
