Prince and Hollywood Walk of Fame Does anyone know why Prince has not earned a place on the Hollywood Walk of Fame? IMO he is certainly deserving. Lemme

He probably doesn't have one because those stars are essentially BOUGHT and not EARNED. Some one has to fork out 25 grand for one.
If that was the case, then he would have had one ages ago. He DOES deserve one.

in order 4 someone 2 have a star on the walk of fame, there has 2 b a fee raised of i think $50,000 on behalf of the star. controversy magazine tried 2 raise funds back in 1993. man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

This has been discussed before and I even started an unsuccessful petition last year. See the attached thread. And for the record I think the signatures tapped out at 358...google Star4Prince2. I was told that Prince really doesn't want a star by a very reputable source.

"The process is frequently initiated by the performer's management or reps; however, anyone can submit an application to the Chamber nominating a celebrity for the honour with the approval of the celebrity or their representation. Recently, it has become increasingly common for fan groups to sponsor Walk of Fame stars. During the course of a given year, the Chamber accepts nominations; the selection committee announces their picks in June for the following year's inductees. An average of 20 nominees are selected yearly to receive a star in one of five categories (film, television, recording, stage or radio), from a typical 200 or more applications received. Once the celebrity is selected, payment of $25,000 is required to seal the deal. This fee is used by the Chamber to pay for the plaque as well as the cost of the induction ceremony. http://en.wikipedia.org/w...lk_of_Fame http://www.hollywoodchamb...ns/faq.asp .
