it was the first song he really rocked out on! i think it's very impressive 2 have this kind of tune on a debut.

A lot people diss his first album, but its one of my faves. This is a very strong track and its so sweet and innocent.

Shredding guitar solo, cool bass licks and drum work. Dug it 30 years ago and still dig it today. It's not may fave but I like P's 1st LP.

Back when the NBA was on CBS in the early 80's, I'm Yours guitar solo began every show. I never knew it was Prince until years later when I bought the For You Album. Great song!

I'm Yours is screaming to be brought back by Prince in concert. It's one of my hopes to hear him play this live.

What it is, Spyz? Yeah, this is the track that really caught my attention. Soft and Wet was the jam and the first track that I had ever heard from Prince. I bought the 45 of that song and didn't think anything else about it. Everytime I heard it on the radio, I thought that Prince was just the name of the band and it was a white girl actually singing "Soft and Wet" There was no picture on the 45 so....There was a band at that time called Foxy so I thought Prince was the name of the group. But yeah, although u can tell Prince was young in his playing, he was still getting down on his solos. I can't tell what the hell Prince is saying but I this is the track, because of the guitars, that made me keep my eye on what he was going to do next. Prince's guitar playing matured a lot in just a year on cuts like Bambi and Why You Wanna. After I heard those, I was hooked. But on I'm Yours, Prince is doing that Boston, Journey, Foreigner MOR FM rock jams. I dug it.

I'm Yours is a cool song. Not one of my favorites but the fact that it was one of if not his first "rocking" songs makes me give it all the respect it deserves. And I agree with everyone who said that it deserves to be performed in concert again. I'd love to hear what Prince today would do with a song from Prince yesterday.

Whazz happenin' Brutha B? Thanks for the up on Andre playing bass on that cut..never knew that before. Like you, I thought "Prince" was the name of the group before I ever saw a picture of him. (Toto, Foxy, etc)

This kid I knew had "For You" bookcovers (!!) that he got from a record store back then (late 78). When I saw the name I said "that must be him". (Wish I had one of those bookcovers)

The album has got a bit of a 'disco' vibe to it, but I actually quite like that Sounds really breezy to me - anyway glad I've got it now, might be my 'summer album' hmmm, how many years later....
