that song would've fit nicely on the dirty mind album. prince's new wave elements were the strongest on that song. i just like the way that songs builds and that keyboard arrangement.

Really love this song. It's one of my favorite unreleased songs from the 80's. If it had been on Dirty Mind to me it would've blown the rest of the songs away. But don't think it fits on Dirty Mind, instrumentation wise.

was listening to that song the other day and was thinking of how big of a club hit it could have/should have been. b-side status, for sure. very !

Prince would have never released it on an album and a b-side either because he didn't want folks to think it was about Lisa. Although it was.

Lisa is the name of one of my granddaughters.

This song has special meaning to me.

Yeah, this song is pretty cool. I think it's about him taking Lisa to a movie or something. Wonder what they saw.

And I'll Prince was tappin' that too.


If you study the production carefully, you can tell that it falls somewhere between the 2nd album and what he would do next with "Dirty Mind".

Talkin' about that period... I listened to 'Billy's Sunglasses' yesterday for the first time.

I know that after one listen is just too early to judge but man, isn't that jam self-indulgent? That makes 'Cloreen Bacon Skin' a piece of cake.

Like the drum beat, though.
