Why are todays' fans so DESPERATE?

You all are the most DESPERATE people I have ever seen. I've been a fan since Prince's Purple Rain days and people were never this greedy, and hungary and just Desperate for something from that man. What is it??

Cause Prine tours once every full moon these days, and this was not just a 'dublin' show, it was the only show bar coachella this year, so fans were coming from all over, The 16th was pretty much going to be prince day in Dublin.

This is not just a cancelled date on the leg of a tour or something

because young people who haven't had the chance to see him want to see him before he dies.

Fragmentor

People have spent a hell of a load of money on that gig, most of people will never see again. There is nothing desperate about expecting a performer to perform on the date he has scheduled to perform at a massive venue with over 50,000 people scheduled to attend.

because we are living in desperate times and the things we used to be able to trust and believe in are no longer there for us??

sometimes people lose hope and i think that prince's music and work have the power to reach people who might otherwise be lost.

granted, this is a bit extreme, but then some folks get that way about the dude. this is just my 2c

desperate?
Prince doesnt tour like that anymore. Maybe this will help...Ive been a fan 4 a while but not as long as others and Ive NEVER seen Prince in my own city. Ive always had to go 2 see him in other states. One of the times I saw him was by accident. He just happened to be there. So,I can imagine how it feels to people who actually spend all this money to see the man on purpose and then its gone just like that.Theyre not desperate or greedy. If they were greedy they wouldve been stopped being Prince fans the way hes rationing out performances these days.
And Im really hating the fact that people from the US are starting threads like this when the Dublin concert was just cancelled.
I hope people know that not ALL Americans feel this way.

Where is this desparation you talk of? Apart from the desperate drooling fams wanting to ogle at Prince's backside.

All this bitching and moaning. None of u know why the concert was canceled. I'm sure its more then Prince just canceling it on a whim. All this hate is very very unnecesary. Prince was just in London for 21 nights plus aftershows. Couldn't most of the Dublin folks got there? If u are flying half-way around the world for a concert u are taking a financial risk. Sometimes u win sometimes u lose. Some of u folks love Prince Too much. U love him so much that u hate him (sounds like a song lol). Maybe u guys need another hobby.

Looking at the threads slagging Prince off, they mostly seem started by people that haven't been on the site more than a few months. I think its more a case of attention seeking by a few, rather than the behaviour of the vast majority of fans.

If your definition of desperate is;
1-asking for more than SIX days cancellation notice, for a gig that tickets have been bought+paid for since March.
2-asking for a valid reason, as to why said concert has been cancelled
3-the feeling of being royally shafted by Prince(+unbelievably not in a good way lol
Then Yes, I would agree with your definition, if not however may I suggest u hush up and move along.....I thank u.

Lol, maybe its the age. That would make people in their thirties in the 80's, right? Most were teens. lol

That's true. But I think us younger people tend to categorize everyone that was around before them as baby boomers lol

You are way over reacting. I don't see any hate in the post, only concern that they've spent hard-earned money and not be able to get what they paid for. and you are heartless, as well.

I mean why are fans really loving this man like this, that we all know would not SPIT on you if you were on fire and needed water. it's almost sad. confused
I shouldn't even use the word 'love'. It's something more needy than that.

It doesn't get any sicker than that now does it? How can you love someone or be a fan of someone who you hate? There's a lie in there somewhere with that kind of thinking and I'm glad I'm not deceiving myself.
