Prince do the decent thing and explain why u cancelled.(We deserve at least that.) How do u all feel about cancellation.I've been a big fan of Princes for over twenty years now.I have travelled to as many concerts as I could..I even had tickets to travel to London to see the also cancelled Sign O The Times Concert.Prince has done a lot lately to piss me off..But still it would never change my appreciation of him as a person an artist and a performer...I know I am not the only one who feels like this.....It is for this reason I think Prince needs to come down from his ivory tower and give us a proper and personnal explanation as to the reason for the cancellation of the Croke Park concert. We as his fans deserve at least this..A lot of people went to a lot of trouble to get to this concert...

I can't think of a single reason 4 Prince 2 do that.

Here's an answer.
If you have been a Prince fan for a long time, then (sad to say this) but this is to be expected. Prince rarely, if ever, explains his sudden cancellations. This is the world of Prince. To expect any more, you're setting yourself up for disappointment.

There R many reasons why an event gets canceled, and 4 everyone here (or at least in Ireland) 2 be blaming Prince, and saying that it's foul, is ridiculous. The statement even said it was beyond Prince's control, and even if it wasn't, there was probably a good reason. "He's a musician's musician..."

Little Prince wants you to shut the fuck up.
Look, shit happens. Prince didn't call you and say,"Um yeah dood you need to drop everything and come see me." It sucks, but he's not the first, last, or only performer to cancel a show for whatever reason. And you're getting your money back. At least you got one or more shows from him. There are a lot of great acts/artists that some love and will never have the chance to check out at their best.

Clearly, the people who are whining and demanding an explanation were not raised by parents (like mine) for whom, "Because I said so," was adequate explanation for anything.
You hear that enough growing up and you come to regard anything that actually comes to fruition as the gift that it is. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

You hear that enough growing up and you come to regard anything that actually comes to fruition as the gift that it is. Yeah. I nearly got laughed at when I asked my Mom why I didn't get "allowance", like some kids did. My Mom was like, "Well... you're living in my house and not paying any rent!" I got the "because I said so" 2. "He's a musician's musician..."

You hear that enough growing up and you come to regard anything that actually comes to fruition as the gift that it is. i think people have a right to be upset and air out their frustrations (respectfully), but some are acting like cancelling shows is only something that Prince would do. remember Whitney Houston's concerts? she used to cancel shows an hour before she was scheduled to take the stage or show up two hours and get booed. i feel for everyone who planned on going.

I feel for people who made plans to go, too. But the fact of the matter is, this was never "officially" promoted. You have to wonder about that. And I think any time you make plans to attend a one-off show (versus a show that's part of an officially sanctioned tour), there's a greater risk involved. It doesn't make it suck any less, but at least folks are getting their money back for the tickets. Chalk it up to experience and go from there. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
