I met him and the Lovesexy band when he played here in Memphis. My brother was working at the arena as security and he overheard that they will be at the Peabody Hotel after the show. After the Lovesexy concert (which was the best concert 2 date), we jumped in the car and drove 2 the hotel and I met the "whole" band and got my tourguide signed by everyone. They was at a table with Aunt Ester (seriously, no joke)! She was making jokes and she stopped when she saw me maybe due 2 my age or somethig and I got her 2 sign my book as well. I had a tape with some music on it and I gave it 2 Sheils E who written in my tourbook, "Thank you for the tape can't wait to hear it" or something like that. Anyway, my brother said "there go Prince". I looked and saw him and and they was about 2 leave or something and I had my guitar and I ask him 2 sign my book and instead he he played my guitar and said "u need 2 tune your strings 4 a better sound". That night I felt offended but when I got home and tighten my strings, I realised that he was right.

she said she about 16 at the time. i was in shock that he shook their hands and that he was actually at a grocery store. Highly doubt that was Prince. Prince very rarely has any security with him in Mn. unless he's doing a show somewhere. He pumps his own gas, goes to Blockbuster and he's always running up to Byerlys for something,so yes it probably was him

I met him in 1998 at the Brixton Academy London during his concert. I worked there briefly as an usher and was around to see him rehearse his set with his band...I dont remember much but I do remember walking past his dressing room and a mixed race woman was doing his hair in little bunches..It was weird cos he was so small but when he spoke the bass in his voice filled the corridors.
Later that day after he had finished rehearsing I approached him and asked 4 an autograph, he actaully made a verbal complaint to my supervisor... I didnt buy another Prince CD for 3 years after that Wake up children, dance the dance electric... there isn't much time.... who farted? ...was it u?

I met him in the bar upstairs at Indigo when everyone was waitin for him to come back on. He was very nice.

He was just being a professional. I really shouldn't be approaching artists whilst I was on duty, he knew that and I guess thats what pissed him off. Anyway, its not like I could go back n say.."hey Nelson, why the fuk U dissin me and shit" I was an Usher and he was the greatest performer the world had ever seen..sucks but thats life. I bet Im the only man on earth 2 ever have got Prince 2 personally make a formal complaint about my working ethics tho lol Wake up children, dance the dance electric... there isn't much time.... who farted? ...was it u?

I will never forget that moment. during my many shopping excursions after the mall of america opened, my fireinds and i would see him on his motorcycle in minneapolis-st paul. he seems like a nice guy. i've been a fan since 1977 when i was 7 years old!!

In the late 90's, right before "Emancipation" was released, I DJ'd at a club here in Minneapolis called South Beach. It was a "hot spot" for a while and Prince & Mayte would frequently slip in on Saturdays and hang out in our small VIP area. One Saturday as I was spinning I looked to my right and there they stood, right next to me in my DJ booth, Prince asking if he could make a request. Of course I said yes and asked what did they want to hear. He asked if he could look at my music. I was beginning to make the transition from vinyl to CD at this point so most of my music was in a CD case, which I handed to him.
A friend had recently passed on the Kirky J remixes of "Pop Life," "Head" etc. to me and I knew they were in the book. I was curious/scared what Prince would say if he saw them. Of course he did, and he said "hmmm, I don't remember releasing these" - but totally in a joking manner, nothing like the negative tone he's recently taken on regarding his copywritten material. In my flustered state I'm sure I responded with a red face and something to the effect of "wella, wella, wella.." Parliament's "Give Up The Funk" was his musical selection. break THE purple GoD

I should have also mentioned, Mayte was very beautiful and demure. I don't think she said a word. Sometimes when they would visit the club she would dance a little bit on the stage in front of the dj booth. *HOT*! break THE purple GoD

I didn't actually meet him, but there were a couple of instances where I came pretty damn close.
The first was at his after party at B.B. King's during the Musicology Tour in July 2004. He and his whole band and entourage were over in the V.I.P. area just chillin' out and watching the tour footage on the stage's 2 jumbo screens. I spotted my little purple hero in a corner doing some air drumming and decided to get his attention. I said "Prince!!!", then seconds later a security guard stops me and says, "sir, you don't want to do that!!!". Then I scurried off. The next time was in early 2006. P was doing a gig with Tamar at the Nokia Theater, and I was trying to see if tickets were still available. All I saw were scalpers trying to make their hustle. So I figured "heck with it, I'm out!". So I crossed over to the back of the theater on the next block. So as I'm walking, a security guard comes out of nowhere and stops me. He asks me to wait as this black limo pulls up to the back of the theater. Lo and behold, this little guy with this gorgeous silk turquoise outfit steps out the car and enters the building with his bodyguards. I'm standing there with my funk sign in the air the whole time. I don't know if he noticed, but it was still pretty amazing for me. And apparently it was amazing for this couple next to me who was stopped. And were just visiting NYC from England, and already they saw Prince. How about that? But one day I will meet him, and we're gonna rock out, karate master and apprentice style. Well I was in New York with them and we went to a club which I think was called Paladiam (something like that it was a long time ago) During the night the DJ put on 1999 and my mate and I rushed to the dance floor and went compleaty mad. When we met up with the Thompson Twins later on they said that P had been in the VIP bar and had been laughing at the two mad dancers. A few months later we were back in London at the Brits again with the Twins. It was the one were Prince won for Purple rain.As he walked in he said hi to Joe from the twins he shook my hand and asked if I was going to do any more dancing. It took me about two days to get over the shock.
I had a great time seeing, "The Thompson Twins," years ago....I saw their show at least ten times in the 80's and I just came across their autograph, a couple of days ago...I also had my picture taken with Tom and Joe, in Toronto...and I also had another photo taken with Joe, in NYC. I really like the band. Prince and I met, but we didn't talk. [Edited 6/17/08 4:32am] "The Lion Sleeps Tonight...

At the Rainbow Children thing at Paisley Park we had a long discussion. At Much Music in Toronto in 2004 I was the first person there for the taping, so they gave me a primo spot. At the sound check in Toronto in 2002 I gave him an amythyst and he played Pearls Before Swine for me. Saw him in Vegas in 2006 but didn't get an opportunity to talk because my husband was with me and he is a stick in the mud and wouldn't let me do anything. He is sweet and funny and so good looking!!
