Yeah, how old is this guy BTW?

19.

Only one year older than me but my musical knowledge owns his lol

Thanx for all your suggestions, guys. biggrin

This is difficult, because I am a MJ AND Prince fan. Why does one have to be a fan of one or the other? Can't we respect the musical talents of both? They are both music superstars from the 80's. They both have their good and bad points, they are BOTH weird and eccentric. Say what you will but I firmly believe that you can be a fan of both, and not have to choose.

The thing is, I am a fan of both, musically.

HE on the other hand is so taken with MJ, it's like he's barely heard anyone else. He said he hated Prince, I asked him what songs he's heard. He said none, he just hates the way he looks. Yep, it's the time old case of Man Threatened By Prince's Androgynous Looks.

Somehow he can handle MJ's horror movie of a face, but I showed him the Prince at the Oscars last year pics and you'd think I'd shown him a picture of a dead body!

While there is enough room for both geniuses if your friend doubts Prince's greatness show him The Lovesexy DVD.

Or you can bet your friend $1000 you can convert him. Show him Princes Super Bowl Performance where he REALLY sang and played in the rain.

I'm sure MJ wouldn't have lip synched in the rain*.

(High Voice) "I can't go out there. What if lightning strikes my nose?"

(*Disclaimer MJ has been performing since he was 6. He doesn't owe the world anything. He was a legend before the other two 50 year old Icons had record deals.)

If all else fails use reverse psychology.

Play P's "Life Of The Party" then The J5's "Life Of The Party"

Show him the performance of "Face Down" from the Chris Rock show.

Play him the video to "My Name Is Prince"

Play the song "Fascination".

Here's a late one: You could have played him LaToya's version of 'Private Joy'"

Jesus! why do you need to convert anyone? let your friend like who he wants to like, its all about choice. Prince may do it for you and MJ for your friend, why does eveyone on the planet have to be into Prince or else something is hugely wrong with them?

Oh for fucks sake, calm down.

I believe I already stated the debate was friendly and that he ASKED to hear some songs.
