You're Prince. Before you even sign your first record deal, a fan comes back in time and goes over your whole career with you and brings all of your official releases for you to listen. Knowing what you now about your future, which of these paths would you take;

1. Add a more harder rock-guitar orientated nature to your sound because you're an extremely underrated guitarist.
2. Not do Purple Rain and stay primarily a r&b/funk artist (Not forming The Time and keeping the albums you would've made them for yourself).
3. Sign a better record deal with Warners so you get your masters and don't fumble in the 90's.
4. After the release of Purple Rain keep on that pop-rock path and DOMINATE the charts, break records, biggest selling artist in the 80's, and undoubtedly rival The Beatles as THE biggest thing in pop music history.
5. Keep your career as is even with all the ups and downs.
