To me him getting his own studio was sinking him in a bubble and his music folded in because of that. He could only be fired up when angry (TGE) or had epiphanies (TRC). I want him out of that yay-saying bubble. Pop!

Pop! i doubt he could ever create something as sublime as say jill jones or parade but that also has alot to do with youth and the unfettered joy and invicibility youth brings but yeah TGE and TRC i totally agree with also THE TRUTH was probably a backlash against commercial decline, construed irrelevance and a tradegy i guess all art has to reflect or be inspired by something thats why great comedians cease to be great once they stop living the life they mused on

Uhmmm, I think Prince is actually really proud of all the stuff he put out. Or he would not have promoted it, right? Or put it out? Everytime I heard Prince talk I just wished he had not, often he just gives interviews when he does not get his way or when he wants to promote the projects that ain't going to get picked up otherwise. I cannot stand another interview with him telling the interviewer about the state of the musical world or the radio, cuz he seems to determined he is right, but he is often just monologueing, the interviewer too scared he is going to walk off if he dares to raise a point.

And maybe a cowbell. He is allowed to take Renato and that's IT. Rick Rubin behind the board. hell no! :nono. Let's see what happens... this is what ur thread should have been, thank u 4 allowing 2 correct it man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81
