Great song. I think like a lot of tracks recorded during that time (Purple Music, Moonbeam Levels, No Call U, etc) this is one of the tracks that could have been on the talked about "follow-up album to 1999" that he scraped in favor a different sound (Purple Rain) in order to not repeat himself.

All would have made great b-sides though.
