07/07/07 Planet Earth concerts, why not Prince? Hey, last summer, in July, for the 07/07/07 concerts, why was Prince not involved? Couldn't he have been put on the bill in Britain or the States or Canada?
Especially with him coming out with an album called Planet Earth, was he snubbed or did he choose to do his own thing. If I remember correctly, didn't he play his own concert (in Minneapolis?)?

Planet Earth is so last year. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I didnt know there were any planet earth concerts.
Was this an international thing? organised by who. I know there is a planet earth site about world environment or something. Why were they organised for 7.7.7? what is the significance of that date? Does anyone know the answers to my questions? walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

I was absolutely thrilled that he was smart enough to avoid Live Earth. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Ah yes, Live Earth, that was the name of the concert I was trying to remember earlier on when I first put in the posting. I think it would have been great publicity for him and the album if he had done the gig.

The concert start late so I thought for sure it was going to be on the earth concert. The show started at 10:00 (2 hrs late) and he opened it with Purple Rain.... Prime aka The Kid

Does anyone know the answers to my questions? It was a giant concert that was literally on every continent with a bunch of performers. It was meant to heighten awareness on troubles in the environment. So they had like, stages that were made out of recycled stuff and they aired commercials that encouraged people to do stuff to help the environment. I think Al Gore organized it or someone like that. The significance of 7.7.7 is just that 7 is a lucky number. And this is 777 Like on a slot machine, I think it comes from the bible.

Same. Bunch of uninformed gullible Lemmings wanting to get in on their own generations version of Live Aid - ending up just looking incredibly 'try-hard' and underlining the sad state of live music currently (if this bogus event proved just one thing it was that hip hop fails miserably in the 'live' context). Al Gore is a phony snake-oil salesman and man made global warming is the biggest bullshit scam of the 21st century and i'm glad Prince had the good sense not to be one of the gullible, easily-lead (or purposely in on pushing the political agenda) 2-faced celebrity fuck-tards that promoted this unscientific, political cashcow that is the Manmade Global Warming Agenda. Good on him for not being part of that bullshit. The whole event for me was summed up by the mutton-as-lamb Madonna completely disgracing herself by trying and failing miserably to look legit by attempting to play guitar - THE WHOLE THING WAS COMPLETELY FUCKING LAUGHABLE!
