"Juxtaposing his dueling worlds of music and solitude, it ('21 Nights') will incorporate Prince's evocative poetry and lyrics to new songs and other selections, and 124 full-color, sumptuous, never-before-published images by celebrated photographer Randee St. Nicholas," Atria announced Monday.

"21 Nights" will include a CD of after-hours jams, "Indigo Nights," unavailable from any other outlet.

Youtube : it's a different story. Their business is to create a massive database of videos of all sorts playable from any website. SSo Hotlinkin does not matter to them at all as it is a way to advertise and to make money.

Wonder which tracks will make it onto that cd?

It looks like it will be an aftershow compilation so who knows what will wind up on it.

On the one hand, I'm droolin' for it and on the other hand I'm not too excited about the fact that if I want it I'm going to have to drop big bucks for a book to get my hands on it.

The Purple One will be allowing a rare glimpse into the inner sanctum via 21 Nights, a "photographic essay" offering a look at the "life, lyrics and mystique of one of the most notable and prolific performers of our time," according to publisher Atria Books.

In addition to 124 never-before-seen photos chronicling Prince's 21 consecutive sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena last year, the package will also include Indigo Nights, a compilation album culled from the intimate, small-venue gigs the artist played after-hours.

Publisher Atria, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, said the U.S. singer was working on a book called "21 Nights," a multi-media book based on his 21 consecutive sold-out concerts at London's O2 arena in the summer of 2007.

The book, to be released in September, will feature poetry by Prince, photographs by Hollywood's Randee St. Nicholas who was given backstage access during the concerts, and a live sessions CD from after-parties at the O2's Indigo Club with new music by Prince.

Atria said in an online statement that the book's jacket will be printed with a black and silver duotone paper-over-board and will be "elegantly sealed in a purple slip case with foil stamping and then shrink wrapped for protection."
Prince, from Minneapolis, who turns 50 in June, is behind hit albums like 1984's "Purple Rain" and 1987's "Sign O' The Times." He is known as a maverick in the music business who is fiercely protective of his music and his image.
