Instrumentals question -- Studio Nights Can anyone tell me if the first 2 instrumentals on the "Work In Progress" discs (disc 1, in fact) have titles? And when they were recorded?
They sound very 1980/1981, are they?

As far as anybody knows, none of dese intrumentals have titles. Still, when eye read Per Nielsen's book DMSR, eye couldn't find any trace of these 16 instrumentals. Still they really sound like Prince. But still so, the 2 intrumentals on the 1st CD of the 1980-1986 CD-set (what's the 2 CD ste's name already ?) sound very much like P also, & still r by Andre Cymone. Anybody knows about it ? & about Elevation's traitor ?

Actually, in the revised edition of TURN IT UP these instrumentals are docucumented quite well, approximate timings and all, so the "Studio Nights" set is well worth getting for these alone. The set also includes a dozen more essential demos and home recordings by Prince that are not available anywhere else - and that includes Thunderball's "The Work" volumes. There are only several FAKES (I believe on disc 2) that the serious collector can do without, those plus the pointless "telephone conversation" Over to you, BorisFishpaw... . "You don't frighten us, English pig dogs. Go and boil your bottoms, sons of a silly person."
