Would you still post in this forum... ... if 3121 came back up, with accompanying forum?
Any reason you might still prefer the org, or do you think the prince discussion here is going downhill? Discuss...

I never really communicated with other members back in the days when the NPGMC was on, but I'm pretty sure I would if they made a similar forum on 3121.
Also I would expect a more sober-minded (if that's the right word!?) way of communicating, and not so much of the more or less personal attacks we sometime experience here (even though some call it humor)... And I would hope to meet other orgers there... Would I still post on the org!? I don't know. I'm really just here for the community and a place where I can share my excitement and learn more about how Princes music/universe influence people. Whether it's called the org, 3121 or something completely different really doesn't matter - for me it's about the people and the closeness to Prince, I guess...

Discuss... nah. i think all u opinionators will prefer it here. u would probably be 2 scared if u were to post anything on a 3121 board. your hero would probably read it and u would find yourself being deleted by his almighty lawyers. but of course P would welcome everybody if such a board would exist. opinions in his head r only words not weapons.

Exactly. Prince doesn't have customer service agents, he doesn't have moderators. All he's got are laywers.

funny enough I didnt used to post on npgmc but did live chat sometimes. Ive only ever really posted on the org.
I have found more engaging posts in here and too many religious backbiting ones etc on npgmc. I dont think he will ever open himself upto forums again, too much is said that is personal. I also find this site more international than npgmc ever appeared. i always somehow felt left out as I wasnt american but in here thers a good mix of us all from allover the world. walk with crooked shoes www.myspace/syblepurplelishous

Agreed; there was a certain all-American lack of sophistication in the "Knowledge" forum; which could have been a very nice place to hang out for people like me, who like more serious topics. I am curious as to "posting topic rules" in another forum...Because what I have noticed...is although we are allowed to exercise freedom of speech...I don't believe that insults should be allowed.
I can understand some general sexual statements...however when it falls under gossip with one individual, or names mentioned...I don't think it should be allowed. I would exercise the lock button 4 those things, and let the nonsense topics stick around. Nonsense is what makes life fun, however, when someone is allowed to deliberately open a topic that is insulting...or specifically gossip oriented, I have seen it exist for days, and the hater's are allowed to play along with the rest of us. I could see someone saying to me..."That's a little stupid, think before you talk." although, I would never get in trouble for downright mean, or downright rude. Prince may be more interested in a happy family, than some of the statements I have read. Some of these members would have recieved 3 warnings, had statements deleted, and been banished from posting, had I have been in control of protecting Prince's integrity, and feelings. There are so many insults that they might just be hard to keep up with... And drawing the line between expressing an opinion and getting too personal with someone... hard to judge perhaps at times.

nah, thats the easy part. its not about the words, they're just a front people hide behind. its the intent behind them, and u can feel it pretty quick if ur tuned in. some people say mean stuff cuz they like him, like Flaming Raindrop for example. other people say mean stuff cuz they're just plain hard-hearted, like viewaskew for example. some girls go all giddy over him in a mindless way, and some genuinely mean it but arent so open about it. some comment on the music from a place of genuine appreciation, some use that topic as a means to make themselves feel knowledgeable. some here are quite seriously parasitic, and funnily enough, its the hard-hearted ones and the ones that go giddy over him for no reason based on any sense of reality. sorry. then u have people with a genuine legitimate complaint and they're entitled to voice it. all in all they all play their part me included, and while some things are way off base, they provide an opportunity for people to learn. imo.

I'd stay at the org. NPGMC was a censorship fiesta. The folks posting there were some serious Jonestownians. If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Absolutely. I was here way before there was an NPGMC, I stayed when I finally joined NPGMC and I stayed when NPGMC died and if some new official Prince forum came, I'd be members of that, HQ and the org. [Edited 4/2/08 6:44am] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

Of course I would!
You can't post threads about Prince and Anal stimulation on 3121!

no... i like the org and posting in a new forum would be strange.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
i'd rather post here than on an official forum HE'S COMING AGAIN
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
It won't, Prince doesn't like forums, all the talk and bullshit is what shut NPGMC down.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Probably not.
The only reason I hang around this site is to get info although I don't like some of the things going on here on this site. Mostly, I try to ignore it and if ever there were an official site, I would go there instead.

I would welcome a Prince - sponsored site. I think it would provide more accurate information and eliminate the gossip, rumors, innuendo, thread-jacking and hatred displayed (at times) by some of the Orgers on this site. The behaviors noted above are not only directed at Prince but other Orgers who are simply sharing their thoughts, laughs and opinions. Its rather distasteful.
Most adults know the difference between insults and opinions, lies and speculation; a lie is a lie and an insult is an insult. I appreciate the long-timers at the Org who share their knowledge about Prince. I belive in freedom of speech as long as it does no harm to anyone else. But all too often some Orgers seem to get a thrill from harassing others and degrading Prince. I don't think the Prince site would support that behavior which is great. However, I highly doubt that Prince or his site would be so sensitive not to allow differing opinions; or even funny comments about Prince, in fact from what I've learned of Prince he seems cool about everbody doing his or her thing (as long as it does not unduly infringe, which is absolutely his right). I don't know if I would completely tune-out the Org, but I would certainly make the Prince site my first and foremost source. And I think it would be great to have a forum there and I would respect the wishes of the "owner" and visitors to the site as I do here.
