JACK U OFF, was it originally a Vanity 6 song???

I've been a Prince fan 4 years, but I only recently listened 2 "Jack U Off" after I bought the "PRINCE NY/PARIS LIVE DVD" and I'm suprised that I never listened 2 this song b4.
But is it just me, or does this sound like something that he wrote 4 Vanity6 and then just decided 2 release on his own?

it's hard to tell of course, but the great book resource THE VAULT doesn't mention that.
