I read this on another thread and always wondered about this song, is this a true meaning of this song? Is this what it takes to be his wife?

The song sounds to me like Prince came and swept a young girl off her feet who was stuck with a guy who didnt want take it there with her yet...marriage and such. I mean, the way Prince was saying how he was gonna bling the girl up and how he would take care of her and whatnot...good stuff good stuff. Had me daydreaming.
