Which rock artists/bands do you think Prince listens to? I heard about Prince doing a cover of the brilliant Foo Fighters "Best of You" recently and it got me wondering, what other rock artists/bands do you think he listens to?

he's mentioned before that carlos santana has been his biggest influence as a guitarist, though who knows? he's so mercurial and fickle, he'd probably name someone else five minutes later.
these days, i would rather be able to dig through prince's music collection than dig through The Vault. i know that's crazy, but i think it would be much more insightful and interesting. | |

ok ill name rock bands that prince listens to or had listen in his life
boston grand funk railroad led zeppelin chicago david bowie(when the time reformed for a concert on minesota black music awards prince didnt watch concert because he went to see david bowie concert i cant rember more but the truth is only 3 percent of people in mineapolis are black. so he was forced to listen to white radio,maybe thats the reason he is so diverse | |
