between my friends and my family, if i were to play "tame" prince they'd be all like "can't you play some darling nikki or something?!". hell, i remember when i first got the controversy album, my mom snatched the drowned rat prince-in-shower poster from the record sleeve and put it up in her room. i never had to worry about playing dirty prince songs in our house.

Actually I'm not so bothered about the dirty lyrics (not to say I wouldn't have a little cough at an opportune moment if my mum was there say "... in a hotel lobby COUGH COUGH COUGH with a magazine". My boyfriend tends to roll his eyes when P gets all screamy in otherwise totally clean songs eg. at the end of The Dance. I think some of the screaming is a lot more intimate than some of the dirty lyrics... obviously I love it but it's not necessarily for the uninitiated!
